Recently we are dealing with a fraud case in the steel sector. The client in the case is a South African company. They bought steel from a steel trading company in Wuxi, Jiangsu. Before delivery, the customer entrusted SGS to inspect the goods, and the goods passed the inspection. But when the goods arrived at the customer, the South African company found that the goods actually received were a pile of scrap iron. So the client came to our law firm for consultation. After investigation, we found that the spectrometer calibration certificate provided by the steel trading company to SGS during the inspection was forged, which is obviously fraudulent. To this end, we have prepared to report the case to the local public police. Fraudsters do everything they can to defraud their victims. We have come across a number of fraud cases in the steel sector. We hereby remind companies buying steel in China to be cautious.
